All ideas, what I paint for an acrylic painting for my art class? Subject, or even like a particular image.
One of my favorite expressions (and always captures the attention of the teacher) is a tree. A willow is always beautiful, sensual and very simple .... But it can be a volatile, wind-blown so .... that's what I go with.

I've searched all over the internet for an answer to this, but everything I have keep coming up with techniques on how to mix colors for acrylic painting! I really want to know how to begin to paint my picture. It is a portrait of one of my closest friends. Should I paint the background of the canvas board first, or her face or her hair? Please help!
Paint in layers. Background shading first. Then work your way to more details. Keep your wet suit. I use an extender gel lighter mix.
