Take the picture at an auction house or art gallery, which is old in the art. An expert should be able to tell you who it is and whether it is valuable. You will also know how to read it.

I brought a painting @ a yardsale someone offer me $800 already, other asking if it a watercolor, how to tell?

I turn, some people will not find out anything, is the only thing they ask them a watercolor. I have no idea myself. I'm trying to figure out now.

If the image is then done on paper, watercolor. If the paintings are on canvas, then his chances of acrylic or oil. If it would have framed a watercolor glass and mats, where everything else should not have!

Roz Wound Up: Irodori Antique Watercolor from Holbein

I talked about the use of defined color palettes with watercolors a week or so ago (literally: I am always talk and scribble literary works on this one), and someone asked if the recommendations were for only three tubes of gouache be acquired to describe.
