How do I make a floral granny room into shabby chic?

I have just moved into a rented apartment, the wardrobe is. It has a dark dusky pink fluffy carpet, cream walls and a granny-ish pink flowers wallpaper border. I can not paint or re-carpet, so I thought making it Shabby Chic. Preferably with black accessories, as I have a vintage black sewing machine, there could be quite nice.

Get a big black cast-iron bed and satin sheets! It will look cool!
